I understand the many barriers as a health professional to addressing the issue of childhood overweight in a busy pediatric office. However, I have found that targeting a few simple things and bringing patients back for visits on a regular basis, can make an impact.
The Action Plan in my toolkit is a handout that I use to help them focus on 1 or 2 changes and then I bring them back to cover other things. Hopefully, this toolkit can give you some ideas and other resources for you to be able to use with your families that will fit in with the way you practice medicine.
